Preserve your vision and confidence with innovative solutions for corneal thinning.
What Is Keratoconus?
Keratoconus is a progressive disorder in which the cornea gradually weakens and protrudes outward, forming a cone shape. This deformation scatters light as it enters your eye, leading to blurred or skewed vision, light sensitivity, and frequent prescription shifts. Often emerging in adolescence or early adulthood, the condition can advance for many years before tapering off.
While glasses or contacts may suffice initially, more specialized interventions become necessary as the cornea thins further. Detecting keratoconus in its initial stages is crucial for preserving sight, since early management can slow progression and may avert the need for invasive surgical procedures.
