Dr. Cohen is a board-certified ophthalmologist. He is fellowship-trained in cornea and refractive surgery. In the last 25 years, he has performed more than 80,000 vision correction procedures including on more than 1,000 doctors. Dr. Cohen performed the first implantable contact lens procedure (ICL), in the Tri-state area. Implantable Contact Lens serve as a LASIK alternative for patients with high myopia (extreme nearsightedness). He was featured on both Fox and ABC news for this groundbreaking achievement.
He performed the first artificial cornea procedure in the Tri-state area, restoring sight to a legally blind man who hadn’t seen out of one eye for decades which got him featured on CBS news. Watch videos of these news reports.
Dr. Cohen’s vast surgical experience includes a large number of complex cataract and LASIK surgeries that are referred to him by other ophthalmologists seeking his unique skill set with such delicate operations. This is perhaps one of the reasons that so many other eye doctors trusted their vision to his capable hands.
Dr. Cohen is a graduate of Tufts University School of medicine and did his cornea fellowship at the prestigious Vanderbilt Medical Center.
Dr. Morar has been providing general eye care at Cohen Eye Institute since 2010. Dr. Morar specializes in the treatment and management of ocular disease utilizing the most modern diagnostic technologies. Dr. Morar is also well-versed in the fitting of specialty contact lenses. Dr. Morar performs examinations in English and Spanish.
Dr. Morar received his doctorate from SUNY College of Optometry and is a member of the BSK Optometric Honor Society where his responsibilities included tuition of peers in clinical skills and various didactic courses. He went on to complete a residency in the management of ocular disease at Woodhull Hospital, a location renowned for its diversity of complex patients.
Dr. Argano received her doctorate with honors at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry. During this time, she was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society and awarded the GP Lens Institute Award for Clinical Excellence in the fitting of GP contact lenses. Dr. Argano completed her clinical training at the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida, where she trained alongside some of the world’s leading experts in eye care. She is a member of the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians and the American Optometric Association.
Over the last decade at the Cohen Eye Institute, Dr. Nancy Argano has worked extensively servicing patients with advanced corneal diseases, including keratoconus and post surgical corneal ectasia. She specializes in fitting customizable, hard-to-fit contact lenses for these patients.
Dr. Chen has over a decade of experience in Optometry, treating patients in a wide variety of settings including providing primary ocular health care for our Armed Services while training at the Keller Army Community Hospital Optometry Service at West Point, NY and West Haven VA Hospital.
Dr. Chen grew up in Marlboro Township and is proud to treat patients in her hometown area. She completed a 7-year accelerated BS/OD program at The College of New Jersey and State University of New York College of Optometry. There, she conducted research on human corneal epithelium regeneration from which she obtained a Master’s Degree in Vision Science.
She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. She enjoys tennis and spending time with family in her spare time.
Dr. Dhandia received his doctorate at SUNY college of optometry during his time in school he was the president of C.L.E.A.R teaching and presenting to his fellow students on difficult specialized contact lens fits. Dr. Dhandia completed his residency training at the Harbor Health Veterans Hospital system along side world known experts in glaucoma. Dr. Dhandia has also written papers in association with Columbia Ophthalmology on rare
corneal conditions.
Dr. Dhandia is fluent in Hindi and conversational in Bengali and Spanish.
Dr. Dhandia currently lives with his wife in New York City in his spare time he enjoys sampling New York restaurants, playing tennis and hiking with his dog Leo.
